Human interaction with the outside world occurs through the senses — sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste etc. With their help, we read information about the environment and make a decision on further actions.
We will tell you how the sense organs work from the point of view of neurobiology, how they protect the body, and what else living beings need them for. We will study taste perception in detail: we will find out why some tastes are pleasant and some are not, and how sight, smell and hearing can influence taste perception and taste memory. In addition, you will know about the profession of flavorist and how food aromas are created.
In the practical part, we will conduct visual, acoustic, olfactory experiments and see how our taste perception works.
