Science is Back to Nature Center

3 February 2021
Children from 7 years old can attend more than 20 programs in genetics, biotechnology, geography and other natural sciences.

Science is Back to Nature Center

After a long break, the scientific and educational Nature Center is reopened. The aim of the programs is to develop research skills and scientific thinking in children.

Each lesson is not only theory, but also practical experiments explaining specific phenomena, reactions, properties of materials. The programs were developed by Zaryadye methodologists for five age groups: from 7 to 9 years old, from 10 to 11 years old, from 12 to 14 and 14+. The classes last from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the program. Thus, adults can visit the media complexes and museums of the park or dine at a restaurant while the children are busy with science.

Children from 7 years old conduct experiments with natural paints, try to predict the weather (“Young Synoptic's Workshop”), study mineralogy (“The World of Minerals”), explore the microcosm (“Painting Microcosm”) and make slimes (“Slime Studies”). Students from 12 years old can study the basics of biotechnology (“Secrets of Biotechnology”), genetics (“What is DNA”) and chemistry (“(Not) Just chemistry”), as well as extract DNA from plants, do microcloning and figure out why jellyfish glow.

New theoretical and practical programs have been developed for participants over 12 years old. “The Planet of Tastes”  program opens the door to neurobiology, the science that studies the structure, functioning, development, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, and pathology of the nervous system. You will also learn about the profession of flavorist and how to create food aromas.

The program “In the Footsteps of a Human” is dedicated to anthropology and tells about the origin of our ancestors. And “City Farmer” introduces one more profession of the future, it tells about specialists who are engaged in the development of agro-industrial farms in urban settings, often reorganizing empty buildings and roofs for this.

Schedule and tickets are available in the “Schedule and Tickets” section, mobile app and interactive terminals of the park.

For the safety of the participants, classes are held in groups of no more than 10 people. All laboratories are equipped with ultraviolet recirculators, Please keep a social distance and wear protective masks and gloves in Nature Center.
