Bio Art

Today, artificial colors are popular, and quite recently, coloring pigments were obtained only from plants and minerals. We will tell you what color in ancient times was considered the rarest and most expensive, and then show how to make natural paints.

Let's talk about paints, dyes and pigments, find out how and when people began to draw and use paints. We will find out the difference between natural dyes, learn about plant pigments, how they are being extracted from plants and used as paints. Let's take a closer look at anthocyanin — a natural plant pigment. We will learn about its chemical properties, find out which plants contain it, and what color it can take depending on the acidity of the environment. In addition, we will create our own palette of colors using chemicals from plant pigments, and then paint a picture with our handmade paints.
