What will the job of agronomist look like in the future? Let's talk about modern cultivation technologies in an urban environment. In the practical part, we will assemble a hydroponic seed germinator.
We all strive to eat natural and tasty products, but fresh vegetables and fruit quickly lose their appearance and taste and, in general, do not tolerate transportation well. New growing technologies are gaining momentum – they allow us grow vegetables, fruit and greens in an urban environment and help reduce logistics costs.

Let's talk about soilless plant growing methods – aeroponics, hydroponics and aquaponics, and figure how they differ and when they are convenient to use. We will find out what soil substitutes and soil substrates exist, how they are used in agriculture and how we can grow a plant without soil.

In addition, we will talk about Singapore's experience in urban landscaping and see what green skyscrapers and office buildings look like.

Anastasia continues her studies at the postgraduate course of Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Research area: “Bionanotechnology”. Studies in vitro plants. Research interests: biology, biotechnology, physiology, breeding and genetics. Convinced that it is possible to explain everything about the world in an understandable way.

Elena Radkevich

Graduated with full honors from the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of the Russian State Agrarian University — Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Research areas: “Fruit growing, viticulture and winemaking” and "Selection, genetics and biotechnology of horticultural crops”. Continues her postgraduate studies in the direction of “Breeding and Seed Production of Agricultural Plants”. Engaged in project activities in the field of aquaponics. Took part in the “Priorities of Russia” competition, in the international BRICS competition for young scientists. Holds honorary mentions from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation for the contribution and development of science in Russia.

Research interests: biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, breeding and genetics, agronomy.

Elena knows how to inspire with science. She is convinced that knowledge can be presented in an easy and accessible way.
