The World of Minerals

What minerals do people use in construction, to build airplanes, and make batteries? Let's talk about mineralogy, study rocks and crystals of minerals under a microscope.

We will tell you about the minerals that the world around us is made of, examine 10 minerals and rocks: figure their difference and how they are formed. We will talk about the properties and use of sphalerite, fluorite, sulfur, quartz. In addition, we’ll learn about crystal lattice and amorphous solid, check how atoms and molecules are organized in different substances. In the practical part, we will study crystals of amethyst, pyrite, Kamchatka sulfur and other minerals under a stereoscopic microscope.

Age: 9+
Children younger than the specified age are allowed on the program only when accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket.

When returning ticket online less than two hours before the visit time specified in it, 50% of its full cost is to be refunded. After the beginning of the session, refund is not possible.

Graduated from the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Research area: "Genetics, breeding and biotechnology." Artyom holds a master's degree in the Horticulture and Landscape Engineering. Research interests: breeding, ecology, microbiology.
