Scientific-educational center for conducting laboratory experiments, conferences, lectures and seminars on genetics, biotechnology, microbiology, geography, and ecology. Educational programs, quests and master classes of the Nature Center are designed for children of different ages, students and adults. In this pavilion, there is also a Florarium - a multi-staged greenhouse with an artificial climate for the cultivation of tropical plants with the help of an aeroponic system - growing plants in aerial environment without using soil.
"Microbiology", "DNA", "Biotechnology" and other audiences of the scientific-cognitive center are equipped, depending on the specialization - climatic installations for growing plants in artificial conditions, thermostats, incubators, centrifuges, and devices for genetic analysis.
Florarium is a unique experimental greenhouse in a form of a funnel.
The glass construction of the Florarium was designed by the Moscow Architectural and Art Design Institute named after Academician Polyansky. The collection is still being formed, but there are already more than 150 plant species at the exhibition.
The plants in Florarium are growing in aerial environment without soil – it’s called aeroponic system.
Similar methods of plants cultivation are used in modern greenhouses for mass production of greens, vegetables and berries. Specially for the greenhouse of the Park, the All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology developed a unique aeroponic growing system.
Here in the Florarium you can see how strawberries, spicy herbs, exotic papayas, pineapples, coffee, tobacco and bananas grow, and all this is in the very center of Moscow.
Florarium is open all year round for group excursions. Our agronomists will introduce the collection of plants. You will learn how to grow a “cosmic harvest”, what is a “living light” and how to create it, and other interesting facts about the world of plants.
