Florarium is a unique experimental greenhouse in the form of a funnel, equipped with the most advanced growing systems.
The glass construction of Florarium was designed by the Moscow Architectural and Art Design Institute named after Academician Polyansky. The collection is still being formed, but there are already more than 250 plant species at the exhibition.
The plants in Florarium grow in aerial environment without soil — it is called aeroponic system. In this case, the nutrients to the roots come in the form of a solution.
Similar methods of plants cultivation are used in modern greenhouses for mass production of greens, vegetables and berries. Specially for the greenhouse of the park, the All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology developed a unique aeroponic growing system.
The greenhouse introduces medicinal, decorative, economically valuable and rare plants of all natural zones in Russia — from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin.
