Florarium is a unique experimental greenhouse in the form of a funnel, equipped with the most advanced growing systems.
The glass construction of Florarium was designed by the Moscow Architectural and Art Design Institute named after Academician Polyansky. The collection is still being formed, but there are already more than 150 plant species at the exhibition.
The plants in Florarium are growing in aerial environment without soil — it is called aeroponic system. In this case, the nutrients to the roots come in the form of a solution.
Similar methods of plants cultivation are used in modern greenhouses for mass production of greens, vegetables and berries. Specially for the greenhouse of the park, the All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology developed a unique aeroponic growing system.
Here in Florarium you can see how strawberries, spicy herbs, exotic papayas, pineapples, coffee, tobacco and bananas grow, and all this is in the very center of Moscow.
Florarium is open all year round for group excursions. Our agronomists will introduce the collection of plants. You will learn how to grow a “cosmic harvest”, what is a “living light” and how to create it, together with other interesting facts about the world of plants.
