The Crust covering the hill of the Concert Hall is a unique glass structure with an area of 8500 square meters. It has no external walls and consists of 2,618 panels, 152 of which are solar panels.
This is the first construction in the world that is built of metallic frames and has no bearing walls. The crust consists of 2600 panels, 150 of which are solar.
The glass awning repeats the lines of the landscape and protects spectators from the bad weather. The crust has no external walls and it does not block the fresh air. Artificial microclimate technologies maintain a comfortable temperature for heat-loving plants throughout all seasons. It is cozy here for people as well: under the glass crust one can warm up in the cold period of a year, enjoying the panoramic view of the park, the Kremlin and the Patriarchal Metochion.
Glass crust is located opposite the Meadow and next to the River Overlook.
