Riccardo Valentini, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 2007, gave his assessment of Zaryadye Park. He noted that Zaryadye, as a piece of nature in the very center of such a large city as Moscow, is a great gift to Mоscovites and tourists.
Under the guidance of Olga Gavrichkova from the Research Institute on Terrestrial Ecosystems (Italy), Andrei Dolgikh, researcher at the Institute of Geography, Russian Academy of Sciences, and Professor Andrea Vanini, the students measured soil emission of greenhouse gases using infared gas analyzer, as well as analyzed soil temperature and humidity, and gave visual state assessment of the park’s trees using the VTA method .
On the basis of the studied indicators, a conclusion was made about the favorable state of the soils and green spaces of the Zaryadye Park.
The studies showed that the soils and greenery of Zarydye Park are in a favourable state.
