From January 18 to April 26, Ice Cave will be closed for annual maintenance.
During this time, the ice in the installation will be melted with heat guns, and the melt water will go into the drain ladders. After complete defrosting, specialists will restore the flooring and gradually build up ice.
Ice Cave is a spatial art installation by artist Alexander Ponomarev and architect Alexei Kozyr. From the inside, the entire cave is covered with frost and ice illuminated by light diodes. The year-round temperature here is from -4 to -9 degrees.
