Florarium is open again!

The renovated Florarium is divided into zones. Each zone acquaints visitors with plants from different federal districts of Russia: Northwestern, Central, Southern, North Caucasian, Volga, Ural, Siberian, Far Eastern. In the greenhouse, you can see northern dwarf birches, mosses and lichens, thermophilic kiwi, almonds, and figs, as well as rare medicinal herbs.

All these plants are being grown in aeroponics for the first time, and this is a unique opportunity to study the biological characteristics of the flora of our country in controlled conditions. Now Florarium has almost 300 species. Gradually, the collection will be supplemented with new plants from different parts of Russia.

Florarium is a unique experimental greenhouse in the form of a funnel. The plants here grow in aerial environment without soil — it is called aeroponic system, the nutrients to the roots come in the form of a solution.
