Moneywort

(Lysimachia nummularia)

The first scientific description of this plant was published in 1753 in the first tome of the Species Planetarum by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus. He devised the name ‘nummularia’ from the word ‘nummulus’, the Latin for ‘coin’, on account of coin-like round leaves.
