This plant, also known as “fern leaf peony”, was often found in steppe zones. However, the fine-leaved peony is rarely found in the wild today. It now requires protection and is listed in the endangered species list in Russia. Its flowers are short and extremely brightly colored. In the early spring on hill slopes and forest edges, peony bushes become covered with dozens of fragrant bright red flowers.
The fine-leaved peony is listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation.
