The filming took three months. During this time, the team of the Russian Geographical Society created 40 hours of unique video material with the help of professional climbers, pilots, meteorologists and scuba divers. They also used a specially designed equipment in the expedition: a cascade of six combined cameras, devices for immersing the cameras into deep water where the natural light is refracted, cable system for working in the mountains. The turret viewfinder, that was used by Soviet filmmakers, helped to imagine the final version of the film.
