On August 1, sports fans and guests of the park will not only see the FIBA Basketball World Cup trophy but also have a chance to take pictures with it, as well as take part in events and competitions for prizes from the Russian team.
The World Cup championship trophy is named after the basketball inventor James Naismith. Specially for the World Cup 2019, a new prize was developed, which is almost entirely made of gold. Moscow will be the final stop on the global tour before it goes to China, where teams will compete for it between August 31 and September 15.
Russia will become the 24th country participating in the World Cup trophy tour. The tour started in Beijing on May 23 — 100 days before the start of the 2019 World Cup — and will end with a trophy journey to 8 cities where the tournament matches will be held.
