When did the first genetic tests appear? What can you learn about yourself by spitting in a test tube? What genetic test did Angelina Jolie do before removing the mammary glands and ovaries? At the lecture, you will get answers to all these questions, get acquainted with modern technologies of DNA decoding and data processing, and learn about the role of genetic tests in the study of human history, the development of personalized medicine and the creation of modern medicines.
The lecture will be given by Valery Ilyinsky, a geneticist, founder and CEO of the Genotek Medical Genetics Center, a member of the European Society of Human Genetics.
