But besides this, the region is interesting for its history and cultural characteristics. Let's talk about the Karelians, about their traditions, beliefs and attitude to nature. We will discuss the influence of Finland and the mix of Russian and Finnish cultures.We’ll study the protected areas of Karelia: the Kalevala and Kostomuksha nature reserves, as well as the Paanajarvi national park.
