Space Garden

Do plants need soil? Is it possible to clone a violet? What science will help to grow seeds that laid more than one thousand years, what does a cosmic greenhouse look like? Interesting? We will tell and show everything!
Children's educational programs in Nature Center are suspended until April 10, 2020.

The participants of the program will learn the specifics of growing plants in a test tube and in the limited conditions of space. Children will also learn how to grow their own “space seedlings”, and take home one of them.

Please note that all programs run in Russian only.

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, professor. Graduated from Russian State Agrarian University — Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy.

Antonida Mahotenko

Graduated from Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, research area: “Biotechnology, genetics and breeding”. Antonida studies the mechanisms of plants protection from viruses. Believes that biology is the most important science as it reveals the secrets of the world around us.

Elvira Dorofeeva
Genetic scientist, food technologist.

Graduated with honours from the Faculty of Technology of the Russian State Agrarian University — Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Research areas: “Processes and Machinery of Processing Industry of Agricultural Products” and “Agronomy”. Elvira worked in the area of food products examination. Experience with children since 2016: conducting biology and genetics classes, as well as project implementation.

Anastasia Sosina

Graduated from the Faculty of Agronomy and Biotechnology of Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Research area: "Genetics and Breeding of Field Crops". Anastasia continues her studies at the postgraduate course of Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Research area: “Bionanotechnology”. Studies in vitro plants. Research interests: biology, biotechnology, physiology, breeding and genetics. Convinced that it is possible to explain everything about the world in an understandable way.

Ksenia Utkina

Graduated from the Faculty of Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology of Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. Holds a master's degree in the Horticulture and Landscape Engineering. Ksenia worked as an engineer at the FSBI Gause Institute of New Antibiotics.
Ksenia’s love for children and science lets her enjoy classes in a playful way and explain children the basics of biotechnology, biology, genetics and botany.
