Yellow Nuphar

(Nuphar Lutea ssp. Lutea)

The water-lily lives in rivers with slow flowing water, lakes, and creeks. It usually grows in ponds with a depth of 0.5-1m, but sometimes its stem can be as long as five meters. Water-lily leaves rest on the water surface while the individual yellow flowers tower above the water with a characteristic smell of alcohol, which the plant uses to attract insect pollinators.
