In St. Petersburg century-old maples grow with a height of 16 to 17 meters, which still annually bear fruit. The maple is an excellent plant for bees. It provides up to 1000 kg of nectar per hectare of plantation. Its white wood is durable and used for manufacturing furniture and musical instruments. The Field Maple received an award from the British Royal Horticultural Society.
