Cypress milkweed

(Euphorbia Cyparissias)

Milkweed is named for the caustic milky juice contained in it. The plant is a native of Europe but was brought to North America in the1860s as a decorative garden flower. Currently, in some states of the U.S., milkweed is considered a dangerous weed that displaces the local flora.
