Baby’s Breath

(Gypsophila Phoeniceum)

Baby’s-breath, known for its peculiar form, is popularly known as a “tumbleweed”. The stems of the plant begin to branch right at the base, forming a globular bush. After its seeds ripen, the stem dries up and breaks apart near the ground. Then the plant rolls around in the wind and scatters its seeds.
